I was just a little girl (about 6-7 years old) when I saw for the very first time at this couple, and I remember them overall for one thing: she could carry him! And that is something I think I will never see again (sadly).

any info on performances in U.S. Are you ever planning on performing together here?
I too am looking for Dvds or downloads to enjoy your past performances. After the
02 Olympics, I kept looking for info of when you would be touring here. I don't
understand why your lawyer is telling you not to perform in US. Most Americans think

Je connais Marina & Gwendal depuis leurs début
et je les ai suivis toutes ces années avec beaucoup d'émotions et d'amour... J'ai
eu la grande chance de les connaître personnellement et d'avoir passé pendant 4
années consécutives mes vacances auprès d'eux. Je suis encore avec eux même s'il
ne patine plus et que je n'ai plus trop de contact avec eux. J'embrasse bien fort
la famille de Gwendal (ils sont géniaux, tous autant qu'ils sont!)et la maman de
Marina -sa soeur- siamoise- Irina! Je voulais juste apporter une précision sur Marina
et dire qu'elle n'est pas exécrable comme certains le laissent entendre. Elle est
moins "foule et fans" que Gwendal mais apprécie quand-même vos marques d'attention.
Ilest vrai que même si elle maitrise bien le français elle n'est pas trop à l'aise
avec ça... Aussi j'ai lu sur ce site qu'elle avait pris la grosse t^te et ne signait
que peu d'autographe, mais ce n'est pas vrai du tout: Marina a toujours été comme
ça, elle fait son métier pour la passion et non pas pour la célébrité, et puis c'est
sûr que pendant les entrainements et les compêt' elle n'aime pas être "dérangée",
mais il faut la comprendre, tout est question de mental dans ces moments là! Enfin,
je ne veux pas dresser un portrait idylique de Marina mais juste dire, pour l'avoir
cotoyée durant de nombreuses années que derrière l'image froide, voire glaciale!
qu'elle peut dégager, il se trouve une jeune femme pleine d'émotions et de sentiments,
avec ses doutes et sa façon d'agir, mais qu'en aucun cas elle ne vous aime pas,
au contraire, elle a toujours dit que le public était le seul "vrai" juge en patinage
pour elle... Sur ce je vous laisse et vous fais plein de bisous doux,
MMarion, qui regrette quand-même de ne plus voir les "Dieux de la glace" ensemble
pour s'entraîner, s'engueuler, se rabibocher et faire des compêtitions! LONGUE VIE

Marina and Gwendal, I think I first fell in love
with you as ice dancers when I saw your Romeo and Juliet program back in 1998. It
was truly beautiful in a way I think skating hasn't been for a while. Ever since
then you have been my favorite team, and I still can't get enough. I love the exhibition
program where Marina wore the gold costume, set against her flaming red hair, and
Gwendal the black. With both those programs, and everyone since, you guys captured
my attention to the very last second leaving me, and many others, wanting more.
That's a gift! Your programs always seem to have a deeper meaning, and you perform
them with such passion. Your love of the sport really shines through. It's sad that
you'll no longer compete at the amatuer level, but you have left us with many great
memories. I hope you'll change your minds and decide to perform in the states. Good

j'ai eu un petit problème, mais pour terminé je ne pense pas que Marina ait fait
ce genre de choses pourquoi l'aurait-elle fait vous aviez le porté inversé et à
part les Russes qui ne sont pas tombés...c'était normal que vous gagniez ! et puis
vous avez battus les autres couples à plusieurs reprises, mais je n'ai pas suffisament
de preuves pour dire tout cela mais si ont vous retire votre médaille ( ce que je
n'espère pas ! ) je trouverai cela injuste et puis après tout ce sont les américains
et les italiens qui ont lançés ceci et comme par hasard au moment où vous rentrez
en France !! les italiens étant arrivés 3ème et les américains étaient hors du podiums,
cela m'étonnarai mais c'est peut-être de la jalousie !!moi je crois en vous! par
contre ce que je ne comprend pas,avec tout ce qui est dit, c'est : est-ce que vous
allez continuez à faire du patinage ensemble en pro ou alors vous allez vous séparer
?! si vous continuez ensemble j'espère que l'on ne vous oubliera pas comme Philippe
Candeloro dont on a plus eu de nouvelles quand il est passé en pro !! mon rêve le
plus cher est de pouvoir vous voir patiner ensemble mais il n'y pratiquement personne
qui passe près de chez moi après tout il y a une patinoire à Beauvais se serai génial
que vous veniez à Beauvais mais bon je me fait un peu trop d'illusions, presqu'aucune
"star" ne passe à l'Elispace de Beauvais, si il y a eu Gérald De Palmas que je devais
allé voir mais voilà problème de transport à la dernière minute !! Mais si vous
passez par Beauvais un jour je vous jure de venir vous voir patiner, moi il faudrait

I just saw A&P in the Champions on Ice tour. They
did their Spanish number from the Olympics. Seeing it live was a great experience
because you can hear their blades on the ice during the foot-stamping steps. And

Je voulais juste dire que j'adore Marina et Gwendal
qui sont les meilleurs danseurs sur glace qu'il existe. Tout le monde dit qu'ils
arrêtent de patiner ensemble pourtant Gwendal à dit d'en "Y'a un début à tout" qu'ils
allaient continuer à patiner ensemble.
J'ai lu un des messages ou une personne disait que Marina était froide avec ses
fans parcequ'elle était timide mais je l'ai vu à Montpellier pour la tournée de
l'équipe de France et elle n'était pas du tout froide avec nous!!!

la chance d'assister aux adieux de marina et gwendal à Marseille, mais je suis trop
dégoutée qu'ils s'arrêtent de patiner ensemble, et surtout qu'on n'ait aucune nouvelle.
Mais je les adore quand même et je suis hyper contnente qu'ils aient gagné aux JO,
car ils le méritaient.

This isn't really a review, but I've seen a few people
mention they are looking for tapes of Marina and Gwendal. I got a couple of good
ones from a girl in the US who put them together herself. She has quite a few tapes
dedicated solely to Marina&Gwendal.They are categorized by year, and show competitions
and exhibitions. She even has some with Marina&Ilia, and Gwendal and Marina Morel.
I've ordered a couple and have had no problems. The tapes are good. Some of the
older stuff doesn't have the best quality, but overall they are good. Most of them
come from French TV. You can order them over her website: www.scratchspin.com
M&G,I wish you had been at Worlds, but I understand your decision not to go. Kudos
on a great career. Your OD this year was just fantastic.

Je suis choquée par les termes précédemment lus tels que :
Musiques pourries, comédie musicale à 2 balles, l'ombre d'un géant c'est "pourri".
Je trouve ceci méchant et intolérant.
Quant à Marina que j'admire énormément le talent je maintiens qu'elle a une apparence
glaciale et inabordable. Hier à Rouen je n'ai rien demandé à Marina surtout pas
un autographe j'avais déjà eu 1 refus de sa part il y a 1 an c'était suffisant quant
à lui " taper la discute "je n'aurais pas osée ; je ne me serais contentée que d'un
petit sourire je n'ai eu qu'un regard baissé "ignorance totale envers ces fans"
le contraire de Gwendal qui est lui très sympa, chaleureux et attentifs à ses fans
; mais je suis très admirative de ce qu'ils sont ensemble sur la glace.

Dear all,
Who watched the F2 TV on 27th know that M&G's history isn't over. They said clealy
that they stop competiting, but they still have much to do on ice. G said that he
also "read" on paper that they decided to stop skating togather, but it's a wrong
news! What a good news for us!
We didn't see much them on media ( TV, magasines etc.)after JO, that's surprised
us. I think they had to take a distance from media to think deeply about their futur
after these 10 years' hard life ( works, all scandals & the jealousy of others).
Now the most important thing for us is that we can see them again!

Bonjour à tous les fans de Marina et Gwendal,
Comme la plupart d'entre vous, je me sens un peu "abandonnée" après autant d'années
de soutien à ce couple de patineurs que nous aimons tous.
L'après-Salt Lake est affreusement vide...On nous laisse vraiment tomber presque
sans explications!
Si Marina et Gwendal ne s'entendent plus, je trouve tout à fait logique qu'ils cessent
de travailler ensemble mais je pense qu'ils doivent un minimum de respect à leur
public.
Tu as raison Susy, on dirait bien que la gloire leur monte à la tête. Je suis à
la fois triste et déçue car je les pensais capables d'avoir une attitude beaucoup
plus professionnelle pour gérer leur fin de carrière chez les amateurs (même si
ce n'est pas toujours facile).
J'espère que nous aurons encore la chance d'avoir quelques nouvelles d'eux et puis
il nous restera tous les merveilleux souvenirs de ces moments de magie qu'ils nous
ont offerts durant leur carrière!

tous ces messages envoyé depuis toutes ces années. Comme vous tous je les ai toujours
encouragé, comme vous tous j'ai été attristé par la nouvelle de leur séparation
. Mais quelle fut ma déception quand j'ai appris qu'ils ne participaient à leurs
derniers championnats du monde . Je sais qu'ils ont enfin atteint leur but après
toutes ces années de travail mais quel manque de respect pour tous ceux qui ne pourront
assister à leur tournée de fin de saison. Comme quoi le succès monte vite à la tête...

(uniquement en francais actuellement),les programmes sont plus axés sur les évènements
paneuropéens (75%)et le patinage y est plus présent.

It's me again, the fan from USA:
I don't want to be misunderstood regarding my opinion on the Italians and Canadians.
I like too much the icedancing, it is a true passion, so I could never enjoy a fall.
It only struck me the high marks received by the Italians for their OD, despite
being the first couple to skate and they did not skate well (because of Maurizio)
and yet they received extremely high marks; 5.8 mostly and even 5.9 for presentation?
Give me a break! And especially when they were the first pair to skate!!!! But,
on the contrary, it did not happen the same thing with the French pair in the FD
when they skated first (bad luck) and they did not receive high marks, leaving room
enough for the others ! That was what it bothered me and gave me the impression
that it was somehow prearranged. Had they not fallen (Italians and Canadians), it
was indeed room enough left for one of these pairs to catch the gold or to begin
another controversy. Having said that, I want to stress that I don't enjoy the falls,
how could I ? Poor Maurizio, can you imagine what happened with him later - from
Barbara who is really as a volcano ?
And then I think over and over again about the Worlds. Of course A.and P. can't
go when their federation is in such a mess (including the big boss); it's common
sense. They need to be on the side of the French federation and it will be kind
of boycot because the Worlds without A. and P.won't be the same as if they were
present. All the other couples will be there, it will be o.k., they are all good
dancers, but anyway the dance aficionados will miss A & P. The Worlds without them
are not complete, but I believe they need to stay on their federation's side. What
a mistake she did, Madame Le Gougne, when she involved the icedancing in the pairs
scandal judging! And by the way, neither one of the 2 gold medalists in figure skating
- pairs will not go at the Worlds. Direct results of the big scandal? I will never
understand Mme. Le Gougne; if she couldn't handle stress and pressure, why didn't
she stay home? Why did she involved the ice dancing in all this? I was watching
tonight the interview taken by an American women on NBC on the night of Febr. 18
and the questions were so incomfortable, it seemed like Gwendal was kind of justifying
themselves for the gold; well, he is really smart and knew how to answer as a gentleman.
That woman should have put me those kind of questions, very provoking questions
!!!!! And all this happened because Mme.Le G. messed up and involved from the beginning
the ice dancing in the mess and if they don't go to the Worlds, one of the reason
is the mess she created. Only the individual skating will have at the Worlds their
olympic champions (ladies and men); all the other 3 olympic champions withdrew from
the Worlds! It is not funny at all, unfortunately. These are the results of the
scandal at the O.Games with the histery of the mass media, etc. etc. Now the Worlds
are compromised if 3 olympics couples withdrew. The IOC should definetely change
something in the way the skaters are judged.

J'ai trouve le mail de la fede fr. sur leur site, simplement et c'est: patinage@ffsg.org
Je ne sais pas s'il est encore d'actualite, mais c'est ca que j'ai trouve et je
les ai envoye un mail (d'ailleurs tres poli et avec des felicitations pour les champions)
pour demander leur appui en relation a un video avec leur programme. C'est seulement
la-bas que j'ai laisse mon e-mail. Je n'ai jamais laisse mon e-mail sur ce site
et alors ca me semble bizarre de recevoir 4 mails. Comment savait cette Aurelie
mon e-mail? Je n'accuse ni la Fede, ni ce site parce que les fans sont innocents
et c'est pourquoi j'ai pense a eux. De toute facon, si je n'ai jamais ecrit mon
e-mail sur ce site, comment est-il possible que je recoive des mails? Et oui, je
le prends comme une aggression pour le moment parce qu'il parait que c'est moi que
a recu entre le 1-3 mars ces attachments. Je n'ai rien dit du mal, absolument j'avais
un nom quand j'ai ecrit mes commentaires, maintenant je n'ai plus de nom. Peut-etre
le seule commentaire que j'ai fait c'etait que, dans mon opinion, ils ne vont pas
aux Mondiaux a cause de ce scandale et l'enquete qui continue jusqu'au mois d'avril.
Ils n'ont rien a faire avec ce scandale, mais de toute facon madame la juge a implique
dans ce qu'elle a dit au debut la danse. Et je crois que c'est pour ca qu'ils ne
vont pas aux Mondiaux:
1) l'enquete n'est pas fini
2) je crois que tant la medaille d'or olympique comme la medaille aux Mondiaux etait
et est preparee pour les Italiens. As -tu vu les notes que les Italiens ont recu
pour leur OD et ils etaient les premiers a patiner; on dit qu'on laisse un marge
quand on a le malchance de patiner les premiers....On a applique ca aux Francais,
FD, mais pas aux Italiens OD; il faut etre BLIND (j'ai oublie le mot en francais)
pour ne voir que des le debut les Italiens pour leur OD et ayant le malchance de
patiner les premiers ont obtenu des notes astronomiques (et ils sont glisse, pauvre
Maurizio paraissait presque immobile, etc. etc.). Et ensuite, pour le FD, les Francais
ont ete les premiers et ils n'ont pas recu des notes tres hauts (la femme qui a
commente a la tele americaine avait parfaitement raison: ce n'etaient pas des notes
comme pour des champions olympiques; c'est-a-dire on a laisse un tres bon marge
pour les autres qui suivaient !!! Merci a Dieu que les Italiens et les Canadiens
ont chute, parce que sinon maintenant nous aurios les Italiens champions olympiques.
Tous les deux couples ont le dos tres, tres bien couvert: Son Eminence Grise, Mme
Tatiana Tarasova. Bon, pour moi au moins c'etait clair que la medaille olympique
etait arrangee et pas pour le couple A/P. Mais on ne peut pas donner une medaille
olympique a un couple qui a chute pendant le FD. Mais meme leur OD a ete faible.
Et pour les Mondiaux la medaille d'or est aussi arrangee et on ne peut pas garantir
que les Italiens et les Canadiens vont chuter encore une fois. Et ensuite le scandale
avec Mme Le Gougne, c'est-a-dire l'enquete continue et toute la Fede Fr.de patinage
est en probleme, alors que c'est mieux de ne pas les envoyer. Et je crois que c'est
une decision sage etant donne la seriosite du probleme. Mais je continue de croire
que la medaille olympique etait preparee pour les Italiens ou pour les Canadiens
(mais surtout les Italiens). Voyez les Lituaniens, ils n'ont pu pas mouvoir au bronze,
bien que tant les Italiens comme les Canadiens ont eu un OD plus faible et ont chute
pendant le FD. Tout est arrange.

Cette aurélie n'a peut-etre plus de PC à l'heure actuelle elle aussi et peut-etre

C'est vicieux un virus, ca ne donne pas sa véritable adresse et ca n'attaque pas
personnellement.

POUR LES FANS ET URGENT:
C'est le message anterieur mais ecrit en francais parce que tout le monde sache.
J'ai recu, a partir du 1 mars, 4 e-mails avec 4 attachments de quelqu'un sous le
nom Aurelie Hermet (adresse: aurelie.h@noos.fr) Tous les 4 attachments sont contamines
avec le virus W32.Sircam.Worm@mm, ainsi que mefiez-vous des attachments. Je n'ai
jamais laisse mon e-mail ici, donc c'est bizarre. Et je n'ai jamais recu rien de
France, sauf ces 4 e-mails recus apres le mail que j'ai ecrit a la Fede Fr.de Patinage
demandant pour appui en ce qui concerne un video avec les programmes d'A/P. Donc,
mefiez-vous si vous voulez votre ordinateur en bon etat. Le mien n'est plus en bon
etat! Et puis, ce qui est encore plus grave, on a detruit ma confidence dans ce
site, dans la Fede Fr. et tout ce qu'il est en relation avec A/P. Une aggression
envers moi et je ne sais pas pourquoi. Tout a ete tache. Le conte de fees est termine.
De toute facon, j'ai pense a vous, les pauvres fans en deroute, en prenant le temps
de vous ecrire a propos des attachments contamines. Peut-etre on peut prevoir que

Regarding a video with Marina and Gwendal's programs, do you know what I did? I
wrote an e-mail to the French Federation of Iceskating expressing my desire to buy
such a video. Maybe if they see there is a big interest and demand, they could do
something about that. So, why don't you write them an e-mail at:

I am sure they could do something if there are lots of fans asking for that and
willing to buy such a videocassette. I've never seen, for ex., "Romeo and Juliet",
"Susana" and others and will pay whatever it takes to have a video with their best

Marina and Gwendal gave a great show at the Olympics-
their compulsories reflected the themes of the two dances perfectly. Their footwork
in the quickstep was amazing! But the absolute scene-stealer (or, I should say,
ice-stealer) was their flamenco. I read a review somewhere that they couldn't have
played the roles better had they been dancing atop a table! I agree fully!!! there
is so much going on between these two, their skating is so sensuous! Being the critical
self that I am, I have to disapprove of one thing. WHY, OH WHY can't these marvellous
dancers perform something else than the ever-famous "Susannah"???? I watch all the
competitions -world, Europeans, Olympics, and I've seen this exhibition dance so
many times already! It is fantastic, I know, very entertaining and sexy, and I love
the song, but come on- a change would do really good. The fans would like to see
something different for a change- one last time before you go...:(((

It seems the olympics were better covered
here in Europe, we had 3 TV channels retransmitting live and differed programs,
all sports and events were covered at least once.

Thanks for answering my question. So NBC did present A/P's exhibition program? I
missed it!
And I missed it due to the poor quality coverage of the Olympics (in general, not
only this one)! They are unprofessional and biased. First, I need to watch the whole
"salad" of sports because they are not able to give a schedule and then follow it;
then, as you said, it was annoying to present the exhibition of skaters ranked 5-th
or 6-th at the GALA OF THE CHAMPIONS and to skip some of the real champions.I am
talking about the regular olympic show, until 11:00 p.m. At least all olympic gold
medalists should have had their exhibition program during the regular show and all
of them (the gold medalists) had it ,except A&P. And this was so unfair! It is really
annoying. What a Gala of the Champions ! The next morning, on MSNBC, the same thing:
a 2-hours review of ice skating at this Olympics and again nothing about ice dancing!

same free dance, please do not use M.Luther King's words.Just let your bodies float
on that gorgeous music. In my humble opinion, Dr.King's words are really distracting
the attention from you both, your dance and the music. I reviewed twice the program
and I had the same impression; I believe his words are working against you and your
program. Let alone that some Americans were not happy at all about this idea (maybe
someone told you about the comments on channel NBC -in USA- during the night of
the performance)! It was just my opinion, my impression, that's all. Best regards

I did not see the Quickstep but I saw
the Blues. It was really good but had a few glitches. For example after the CHoctaw
Marina's edge went FLAT on the second choctaw and therefore there was a big separation
between the two of them becuase Gwendal switched to a nice and clean outside egde
out of the choctaw. Other than that error spot which is VERY difficult , trust me
I know what it is like , your expression and your knees were FANTASTIC!!!!!

and I feel very posotive about this considering that in these times we are all looking
for some hope and peace. And that is what I feel when I watch their program Liberta
they are flowi ng on the ice and using their hands and eyes and the constant changes
in postion, but with power when needed and then they subtly bring you back to the

Je suis montée sur des patins pour la premiere foi à l'âge de six ans (maintenant
j'en ai treize) Je vais à la patinoire tout les samedi et c'est trop cool. Un jour
j'aimerais devenire une très grande championne. Mais pour l'instant mon grand cela

I have only see the debut and M&G's origional dance
and i already have a good feeling that they are on for a good start and they are
sure on the way to capture the gold medal at Salt lake city. Last year after they
debuted their first program i just felt that it was not going to work very well

In my opinion these two fantastic ice dancers are
the modern successors to Torvill and Dean. It is a tragedy that "sporting" and international
sports politics so often spoil their success by denying them medals and awards that
so justly belong to them. So never mind the official results, we all know that they
are the best in the world - they have everything: technique, innovation, charm,
endless imagination, and the courage to take the risks to perform beyond the realms
of what any other skaters before them considered possible on ice. Just see how the
other couples copy their new moves even before an event is fully over! They will
always be pioneers, and pioneers will always be remembered. I treasure all the videos
I have made so far, and am so frustrated that German TV provides such poor coverage
of this incredible sport.
May I add here that Eurosport's English commmentators just love A&P, while the German
commentators have only dry criticism, they must be blind - what a shame. I was hoping
that Eurosport would show something of Trophy Lalique, but fear that with no reception
of France 2 and 3 I'll miss out on that.
But: for Salt Lake City, there is a gold medal alrady waiting with their name on
it, if only the judges can leave their national pride behind and just judge art
at its incredible best.
The very best of Luck, you do so deserve it.
May Fortune smile on you so that you really make your mark on this sport for posterity.

lors d'un voyage aux USA plus précisemment dans l'avion
qui nous menait à Chicago le 15 Juillet 2000 ,j'ai eu l'immense privilège de rencontrer
les deux magiciens du patinage et de remercier Gwendal pour les performances extraordinaires
et exceptionnelles qui nous font tant rêver.
J'ai toujours été une inconditionnelle du patinage artistique et suit régulièrement
les différentes prestations chaque hiver depuis des années devant mon petit poste
de télévision.
Et pour la première fois de ma vie j'ai réservé une place à Bercy pour venir admirer
en live le prince des glaces Gwendal dont j'ai toujours en mémoire le large sourire
plein de douceur qui m'était adressé dans l'aéroport de Chicago.
Gwendal , je te souhaite plein de succés pour cette année en espérant que ça ne
sera pas la dernière.Que vous ne soyez pas les premiers n'a auncune importance,
vous êtes de toute façon les meilleurs.
Je ne sais pas si vous lisez ces messages, mais du fond du coeur je tiens à vous

nouveau libre! Apparemment,il est bâti autour du thème de la liberté:Marina symbolise
la liberté (je trouve que ça lui va très bien)et Gwendal la soumission.La musique
est la BO du film "Cyrano" entrecoupé d'extraits du texte de Martin Luther King
"I have a dream".L'article est accompagné d'une photo de ce programme et je pense

Marina and Gwendal and their new free dance.It's built around the theme of freedom:
Marina symbolize the freedom (I think it suits her very much!)and Gwendal the submission.They
will skate on the music of the film "Cyrano" interspersed by fragments of the Martin
Luther King's speech "I have a dream".There is a photo of this routine with the
article and it seems to be GREAT.I can't wait to discover it in the "Trophée Lalique".

pour ça. Sans vous deux le patinage ne sera plus vrai, ne sera plus rêve, pas de
magie. Je crois que j'arrêtera de le suivre, ce sport bizarre, quand vous cesserez
de dessiner mes rêves sur la glace.
Vous écrire en Internet c'est pas mal, comme idée, mais j'aimerais bien pouvoir
écrire une lettre ou quelque chose comme ça, avec mon vrai écriture. ça me pourra
aider à me sentir encore plus proche à vous. Donc si quelqu'un veut très gentillement
me comuniquer comment est-ce que je pourrais faire pour vous envoyer une lettre

Some of my friends in Russia know twas told a rumour that originated from some of
the top ice dancers in the world, in fact this rumour started to frequent shortly
after the 2001 World Championship in figure skating in Vancouver, Canada:
I was told that the ISU and the various federations already have decided amongst
themselves the result for the ice dance competition in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games
in Salt Lake City, USA:
1) Barbara FUSAR-POLI and Mauritzio MARGAGLIO (ITA)
2) Irina LOBACHEVA and Ilya AVERBUKH (RUS)
3) Shae-Lynn BOURNE and Victor Kraatz (CAN)
4) Marina ANISSINA and Gwendal PEIZERAT (FRA)
Please do not take my words for fiction this is a rumour that is well known between
the skaters themselves and I thought it was time for the fans to know this.

I waited with great impatience for yous and Marina performance at the World Championship
in Vancouver. To my sincere regret, yours did not, unfortunately, get the gold medals.
Nevertheless, the staging of all yourdances are superb.
Yours free program is of particular interest, where Marina and yourself, with your
characteristic talent, turn the dance into a shattering show. I cannot forget such
pieces of art as ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘A man in iron mask’, and especialy ‘Carmina
Borana’. ‘Mon Esmeralda’ is particulary superb, which makes you wish watch it again
and again.
I do not try to guess what free program you are planning to present at the Olympic
Games 2002, but perhaps this is going to be a narration ore a show. Excuse my impertinence,
but I have though up something quite fantastic for you. May I afford to you, Marina
and your coach to stage a dance from the opera ‘Gordano’ from a St. Peterburg composer
Lora Quint. The music is exellent and very impressive. By the way, the premiere
of the opera in Moscow back in 1988 was attended by Anni Jirardo and according to
her words, she was perfectly shaken. For stading a dance, this piece suits you best
of all. I have alredy prepared a detailed design of the costumes. As a present for
you I have designed a lot of quite new and original supports and rotations, never
performed by anybody befor. (Although I cannot imagine how to deacribe or show them
schematically). With your characteristic gift of a dramatic actor and artisticity,
you might excellently perform Gordano Bruno. But, certainly, all this is to your
option and the whole team. But, please, belive me, it is a really great desire for
you and Marina to win the Olympic gold medals. All my efforts are aimed for this.

Well done at the World's shame you came home with
the wrong coloured medal. I felt you deserved the gold. However I definately do
not think you're free dance is as original or as innovative as I know you can be.
I feel that although it is beautiful and represents 'dance'. I lacked that something
that allowed the Itallians to grab the medal from you. I hope you come up with a

than the italian's and more difficult.It was the dance of the real champions because
that's who you are! You are encredeble together!
Unfortunatly judging in Vancouver was coplitely unfair and not only in ice-dance
but also in other catigories (maybe exept men). Ice skating and espesialy ice-dancing
is the most unobgective sport but you have to belive it it because it's the best!
I hope you're not too devistated by silver medal (after wathing the Gala i'm sure
you're OK). Belive in yourself and in your sport because ALL your fans around the
WHOLE world do!!!

Merveilleux Marina et Gwendal!
Qu'est ce qui a bien se passer dans la tête des juges pour ne pas avoir vu la perfection
de votre programme? Avait-il du sable dans les yeux? Pour ma part à l'annonce de
leur jugement, je me suis surprise à pleurer! Par deux fois dans une seule et même
compétition, ils se sont révélés injustes. Dans la danse originale qui m'a époustouflée
et la danse libre qui m'a arrachée de gros sanglots! Je ne comprends pas mais de
toute façon, aux yeux de tous, vous êtes les champions du monde et non les Italiens!
Techniquement et artistiquement également, les Italiens ne vous arrivent pas à la
cheville! Je n'éprouve pas de haine particulière pour eux mais je trouve qu'ils
ne méritaient pas le titre. Ce qu'ils ont fait était de la surthéatralisation. Aussi,
je pense que le peu d'applaudissements qui les a accueillis au gala de clôture était
tout à fait légitime autant que le très chaleureux et enthousiaste accueil des Canadiens
à votre entrée l'était. Restez vous même! L'alliance du feu et de la glace! Dans
les coeurs de tous, vous êtes et resterez les meilleurs. Vous représentez tant aux
yeux de tellement de gens! Je me réjouis des prochains Masters Miko (bien que je
sois encore sous le choc de cet injuste jugement)et je sais que vous montrerez à
ces juges qu'ils se sont trompés et qu'ils se sont comportés comme des êtres insensibles
et grossiers.
La médaille olympique de Salt Lake City sera à vous, du moins je l'espère!

Your last free dance was quite good but can t be compared to your 1999 program.
Me and my friend Andrea were in Prague European championschips and your Man in Iron
Mask was really the greatest experience of championschips. Last two seasons you
asked to make choreography Christopher Dean. I suppose it is not good for you because
his inventions are not so strong as years ago.
Please cooperate next season with someone else. Remember that your breathtaking

I think that Marina'a declations after the Free dance
in Vanccouver were not correct because Barbara et Maurizio beat you on the ice with
their best weapon: their fantastic carisma and talent! You have the judge too (and
also the hungarian judge, one that you know very well...)
I don't remember that one of my friend, Pasha Gritschuk, spoke of any other skater
the way Marina spoke of the current World Champions.
She did the same with Anjelika Krylova.

And in fact, there was no doubt. I´ve rarely seen a couple radiating such harmony,
such elegance, combined with a nearly perceptable tension. That was skating, dancing
at its best! It was music transformed into motion!

pleasure watching you and even if the decision of the judges did cost you the title

En Belgique aussi, il y a des gens qui passent des nuits blanches devant la télé
pour avoir le plaisir de vous regarder. Votre danse libre était d'une intensité
et d'une émotion rares. Je pensais que les juges se rendraient à l'évidence : les
champions du monde, c'est vous! Mais ils n'ont rien compris (il ne faut pas leur
en vouloir, les pauvres, c'est déjà si triste d'être aveugles à ce point!). N'ayez

Ne changer surtout pas, nous sommes fiers de vous. Les J.O. de 2002, nous promettent

I would like to write you that i admire you very much. (and not only me, but also
my family and friends). I have been interested in you since the year 1998, when
I was attracted by your Romeo and Juliet. Since that time, I have recorded all your
performances on video cassettes. I admire very much your dances full of passion,
emotions and expressive expression of your face (especially you Marina; Gwendal
you had a very good expression in Esmeralda). You look very good on ice together
- it suits you. You are diffrent than the others. You choose for your dances songs
and music which I like very much - my favourite style of music.
When I have a bad mood, I watch video cassettes with your performances to feel better.
I watch it again and again and I discover new interesting details of your dances.
In each dance I have some favourite features.(for example in Romeo and Juliet the
feature, when you - Marina impersonate a bird or in Carmina Burana when you - Gwendal
does the jumps with one leg strung-up and the other leg flex to the other in "air"....it´s
a liitle bid complicated description)
I saw you "directly" only once - in 1999 on European Champinonchips in Prague -
your original dance (Waltz). However I like all your dances, this one I like the
most. It´s much more impressive to see you directly than on TV. It has stronger
atmosphere.
Every year I´m looking forward to next World and European Championchips, because
it´s the only opportunity how to see you. I´m very glad that I have found your web

Hi Katka, their new Od is now Quickstep-Slowfox-Quickstep,
and in the whole very close to real ballroomdancing. It goes more in the direction
of Fp/M's Od. Marina wore a voluptous orange ballroomgown with her hair tied up.Gwendal
wore a tux I think with his hair in a pony-tail.
I found it way better than their first Od, and if some people think that they will
not beat the italians with it, I'm sure that they will be sure to keep the second

Even though the Italians won the European championships,
I still think that Marina and Gwendal are the best in the sport.What happened in
that competition was a pure accident that could happen to anybody, it does not take
away anything from their talent and skill. I did not like it when the ABC commentators
at the GPF said that M&G withdrew from the competition because of the defeat they
suffered at the Europeans, thus implying that they were afraid of the Italians,
i do not think so. Marina was injured, and a skater's health comes first, atleast
these people should know better. I do not think it would have been a good idea to
go ahead with the competition just to prove a point.
The Italians are good skaters yes, they are very aggresive and move very fast in
the ice. But I think the French posses something extra, they have that romantic
aspect in their appearance some softness, reminding us that this sport is also about
grace.
I wish Marina and Gwendal all best in the world champions

I just became a fan of Gordeeva and Grinkov, and
I have to say that the more I watch this pair, the more I appreciate Marina and
Gwendal's skating. Though pairs skating and ice dancing are different disciplines,I
see through the differences and appreciate the quality that both couples have in
their skating, especially since both are classically trained (and Marina is Russian),
and have balletic grace.

Ne commettez-pas l'erreur de ne pas aller à la finale du grand prix au Japon, ne
laissez-pas vos soi-disant rivaux prendre le dessus une nouvelle fois, ce serait
un très mauvais calcul stratégique. Même si vous êtes 2ème après l'OD vos deux libres
vous propulserons à la 1ère place: VOUS ALLEZ GAGNER, le monde entier est avec vous
et vos nombreux fans japonais seraient très déçus.
Vous devriez être hors-concours tellement vous- êtes au dessus des autres patineurs,
personne actuellement ne peut rivaliser avec vous, même si les juges essaient de
créer un peu de suspence, ils ne dupent personne, sauf peut-être quelques patineurs
un peu trop imbus de leur personne.

After watching the European Championships, I must
say how exciting and thrilling a competition it was. Despite not winning, the attitude

Dear Marina and Gwendal,
Congratulations with your 2nd place. Of course I'd rather seen that you were the
European Champions, but unfortunately that isn't the case. I thought your free dance
had much more emotion, energy and difficulty that the one from the Italian couple,
but it's just too bad that you fell. I'm sure that if that didn't happen, you were
the European Champions!
In the rehearsles I saw that it wasn't in fact Gwendal's fault that you fell, but
Marina's! She didn't move her foot away quick enough, and because of that Gwendal
fell over it. You can see it for yourself in the rehearsles!
Anyway, there's still a World Chapionship coming and I'm absolutely sure that you
will do everything to become the World Chapions again. You're simply the best!

Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat are my absolute
favorite iceskaters. I love their Carmina Burana and Man in the Iron Mask free dances.
They bring a very theatrical and dramatic element to icedancing which I think has
taken the sport to a new level. I hope they don't ever change their style too much

I saw Marina and Gwendal's new free dance in Paris
and i don't understand why some people are concerned about it, it is simply gorgeous.Maybe
they have to work a bit more about it, but they still have time before being opposed
to the Italians.I am more concerned about their original dance this year, i hope
they won't make any more mistakes on this one.I was a bit disappointed that they
had not changed their exhibition programm, as all the other skaters had.
But nevertheless, i wish them good luck, you're the best.

WAOW, I have to say that I was a little bit anxious to see your new free dance
because I thought you couldn't do better than last year, BUT you just did !!
I love this programme, I think there is more speed than last year and you kept your
own style.
I have to say the truth : I tape all the competitions I can and I watch them for
hours and hours : I've seen "the man in the Iron mask" about 1000 times !
But my favourite programme ever is your OD at Helsinky when you lead the worlds
(1999).

It will be inevitable among fans: Which among the
reverse lifts, including the most current, is your favorite?
I hope Marina and Gwendal won't put too much fuss into the reverse lift as to putting
in some more choreography. There should be a feeling of wholeness to the program
regardless of the lift. The whole program should be captivating with or without
reverse lifts. The way they did "Romeo and Juliet" and MITIM...
Nevertheless, I AM very curious as to what M&G have come up with this season. May
you be successful all the way to the Worlds! ;-)

First of all I want to say that I think the new program
is grogeous!! I love their style adn think they are the best skaters ever.
To Waitu I'd like to say that Marina must not have gained weight. When I wear my
white tights for ballet my thighs are bigger than they are when I wear the black
ones. So it's maybe the costume.
Marina and Gwendal, keep the style you have and don't listen to others! You are

I think Marina should try to loose some weight, she
has really grown very big this season as a result Gwendal seems to be struggling
as he lifts and swings her around. Also I think she looks just too cute when she

I am a very big fan of A&P, but I still feel that
the Israelites deserved the lead in the Origional Dance in Skate Canada, I liked
their program better and it was faultless. However, I still love A&P and wish them

I think that Marina and Gwendal are really good ice
dancers. Marina must be really strong to be able to lift Gwendal. I love watching
those lifts. Marina and Gwendal skate to the same kinds of programs as the other
European dance teams, but when the other teams skate, they just don't look very
good. Marina and Gwendal do.
I think that there aren't very many great ice dancers out there right now, and the
only ones I really like to watch are Bourne and Kraatz,
Dubreuil and Lauzon, and Marina and Gwendal.

I just love Marina and Gwendal so much, they are
such a pleasure to watch and the passion and the chemistry these two share on the
ice is just incredible. I always find it so difficult to believe that they have
contrasting personalities because you cannot see a trace of that in their performance,
or may be that is why they blend so well-(remember, in science they say, "unlike
poles attract each other"). Marina and Gwendal share a unique passion that I have
not seen even in married skaters, it looks so real (honestly, in my own secrecy
I wish it was real).
To Gwendal and Marina: I just wish you guys keep skating together for quite some
time because some of us just can't get enough of you, we are always eagerly waiting
to see what you have in store for us. As for me, whether you win or loose a competition

I just love Marina and Gwendal so much, they are
such a pleasure to watch and the passion and the chemistry these two share on the
ice is just incredible. I always find it so difficult to believe that they have
contrasting personalities because you cannot see a trace of that in their performance,
or may be that is why they blend so well-(remember, in science they say, "unlike
poles attract each other"). Marina and Gwendal share a unique passion that I have
not seen even in married skaters, it looks so real (honestly, in my own secrecy
I wish it was real).
To Gwendal and Marina: I just wish you guys keep skating together for quite some
time because some of us just can't get enough of you, we are always eagerly waiting
to see what you have in store for us. As for me, whether you win or loose a competition

I had never paid any attention to ice dancing before,
but it so happened that just by mere chance I was flipping through the tv channels
and I saw something very incredible;Marina and Gwendal performing in the 2000 world
championship.I was totally mesmirized, I had never seen anything like that before.
The performance was so breathtaking that I wished it could never end. Since that
day, I fell in love with this couple and I cannot wait to see them perform in this
season. Keep up the good work guys. I love you so much.

Voici mon histoire : je suis une fan inconditionnelle
de la première heure, bien qu'étant simplement une spectatrice télévisuelle.
Pour la saison 1999/2000, alors que j'étais enceinte,j'avais décidé de me déplacer
pour suivre les compétitions au moins en France.
J'ai donc assité au Trophé Lalique ainsi qu'à la finale du Grand Prix à Lyon. Etant
à l'époque Marseillaise, j'étais ravie d'apprendre que les championnats du monde
se dérouleraient à Nice.
Etant proche du terme de ma grossesse, j'ai hésité très longtemps pour acheter les
billets afin d'assister au gala de cloture du 2/04.
Et ... j'ai accouché le 2 avril d'une petite Elise.
Voilà une anecdote parmi tant d'autres !
J'espère avoir l'occasion de vous voir vous entrainer à la patinoire Charlemagne
avant mon retour sur Marseille.
De tout coeur, je vous souhaite une excellente saison 2000/2001 et vous remercie
pour votre respect sans faille du public.

When I first saw them on TV it was the '97 Champions Series Final. They got one

Don't you just think that Gwendal and Marina are
among the most clever and intelligent skaters ever to come? ;-)
Not that I mean that in a derogatory way, but if you just see the cleverness in
their reverse lifts, their choreography, the way they gradually changed their 1999-2000
OD...very SMART!
I can't believe this couple! And one of the reasons they stand out is GWENDAL! Of
course, Marina is great, but it's always a classic trait (or training) among the
other dancers--especialy from Russia--where the female partner outshines her male
partner. With A&P, you could just see that it's not only Marina, but also Gwendal
who radiates with an aura of someone who knows the sport inside and out. He does
not seem clueless, not like the way I see other male dance partners. I have to agree
with what one sports commentator once said of Gwendal: He just catches your eye...He
has such command...He is one rare talent in dancing...I think he's the best male
ice dancer since Christopher Dean.
Their aura is more of an intelligent partnership between them. The male partner
is not just an "escort" who provides the foundation for his female partner to emote
on. And likewise, the female partner is not just the one who expresses. BOTH of
them do each other's roles; both of them share the spotlight. And that's something
that I have to see from other ice-dancers.

I had the pleasure of seeing Marina and Gwendal skate
on the Champions On Ice tour in San Jose. Their program, Carmen Burina, was so powerful
and beautiful that I was mesmerized. After the show, I was lucky enough to get to
meet both Marina and Gwendal and I must say that not only are they brilliant skaters
but also nice, warm, sweet people. Keep going Marina and Gwendal and the medals

I always get this thrilling fealing in my stomach

It was really great and tensious to watch your competitions on TV. All the programs
were great, I find the Latin program also GREAT. I'm a latin dancer and I don't
know how you can dance all these steps on the ice. But your show program was soooooo
beautiful that I'm already cry when I watch it. Please dance Romeo & Juliet program
as a show next time. I want really to see it. Perhaps I will go next year to Vancuver

It feels so good to read all these fans messages...
it takes away the feeling of being naively enthusiastic about a couple doing a kind
of sport I'm not able to do myself. I just love every sport where I can find the
beauty, emotions and stories in movement, all of which is present in ice dancing.
I think I will also speak for my mom, as well as for a lot of other poeple, when
I say that A&P's perfomance at Worlds 2000 was splendid and that the gold was absoutely

I saw the Carmina Burana for the first time during
the European Championships on tv. It's such a powerfull and dramatic routine. I
absolutely loved it! :) The steps look so very difficult, yet Marina and Gwendal
get through them as though they're nothing. This programme had everything I came
to expect from this great couple over the past two years. It has a tremendous speed
across the ice, lots of drama and expression, absolutely gorgeous costumes (maybe

like Gwendal's cool leaps and the lifts where Marina lifts her partner, and much
much more! The Carmina Burana music really suits A&P's style and I can very clearly
see a story being told on the ice, which is what I've always liked so much about
their programmes. :-)
"Dance Mon Esmeralda" was also a lovely routine. So dramatic and tragical. It breaks
your heart to see poor Quasimodo try to let his Esmeralda dance just one more time.
And there'll sertainly never be an Esmeralda as pretty as Marina. (Not to speak
of Quasimodo ) I've been humming the "Dance mon Esmeralda" song for days after the
Gala and nagged my French teacher to show us the video of the musical. He eventually
did, and I think that Marina & Gwendal express that last scene better then a thousand
musical stars ever could.
I'm counting the days to Worlds when I'll get to see these enchanting programmes
again and from what I've heard a lot of other people are too.

I just think that the Camina Burana was phenomenal,
there are no words for it. I loved it, the lifts en spins were so beautiful. I also
liked the OD, especialy the steps they have when they begin, and the last lift they
do, it all looks so perfect. Sometimes if I see them skate it looks like they are
into the music and that the is no public or judges. There is only music and A&P.They
have a special passion and there presetation is so so perfect. They are simple the
best

that you should have won with that beautiful "Man in the Iron Mask" routine, it

A fan from the tropics? You gotta believe it! I may
even be the first one here! LOL!
I gotta say: Gwendal, you're the man! And Carmina Burana did it for me. If you guys
did a really bad or mediocre FD program, Gwendal's looks wouldn't still catch my
attention. Well, look at me now-- a bonafide ice-dancing fan. And I've never been
an ice-dance fan bfore--I'm more into the singles events.
Alright, does anybody here have a tape of A&P programs and routines, especially
"Romeo and Juliet" , "Man In the Iron Mask" and "Carmina"?
I'd love to be able to watch them again!

I believe I'm the only figure-skating
fan here from the tropics (where there's no ICE!). But I've always loved figure-skating
since my highchool days. UNFORTUNATELY, I've only gotten to know Gwendal and Marina
in the first week of Feb. 2000 when I was watching the Trophee Lalique competitions
on Star TV.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Gwendal, you just take my breath away! I've never seen such a
beautiful and strong skater as you are! And with your long blond hair and chiselled
features, you look like a Nordic god and you remind me of someone whom I also love
very much, but sadly passed away in his youth. And you and Marina just make the
perfect couple.
By the way, what was the name of the Free Dance program as well as the music that
A&P performed in the Trophee Lalique competitions? Their performance was magnificent!
I have now become an ice-dance fan because of it. Can anybody help me?
And Gwendal, please keep your hair LOOOOOONNNGGGGGG Ok? It certainly makes you stand
out in the ice.

Ice Dance has always been my favourite! Every now
and then a team comes along that blows me away! Previously it was Isabelle & Paul,
and some of the Russian teams of the past. But Marina and Gwnedel have everything
those teams had and more! Style, passion, individuality, difficulty, percision,
and this special way they connect with people! Their current free Dance is spectatular
and I have no doubt that they will take home many gold this season! I really feel
that this team has the potential to be one of the greatest ice dance teams of history...at
least in my mind!!!

in and facinate me. The Carmina Burana program gets better each time you skate it,
and I am very happy that skating is on TV practically all the time, so I can be

I had the opportunity to see Marina & Gwendal in
the practices and competition at Skate America in 1998 in Detroit. They always skated
at the highest level of performance, even in the practices. I missed the practices
for the free program, however, so I was very surprised to see the amazing lift in
their "Man in the Iron Mask" routine for the first time in competition. Most of
the audience had not seen it yet either, because everyone gasped when Marina lifted
Gwendal in an upside-down split position! It is the most incredible move I have
ever seen in ice dancing. (I was also fortunate to meet Gwendal at this event).
I haven't had the chance to see their programs this year. I can hardly wait to see
what they come up with! Gwendal and Marina should have been the World Champions
in 1998 and 1999; I would also have given them the gold medal at the Olympics for
their beautiful "Romeo & Juliet" free program. The only reason they didn't win these
competitions is because they represent France, and not Russia. The judges only want
dancers who represent Russia to be the champions; they refuse to acknowledge when
someone else is better. Shae-Lynn Bourne & Victor Kraatz are also better than Krylova
& Ovsianokov, but the judges will never reward skaters who are from other countries.
I hope that Marina & Gwendal don't get too discouraged, because they are the best
and everyone knows it!

I first saw A&P performing their incredible
"Romeo and Juliet" routine in 1998 at the Europeans and I literally fell in love
with both of them.I was very disappointed after this year's results at the Europeans
and Worlds because A&P were ten times better than K&O.I am pretty sure that A&P
will be the new world champions because their performances really touch people's
hearts.I'm looking forward their new programs and wish them good luck.

Hi everybody !!!
I saw all the French team during an exibition this summer as I was on holiday !
And during the break I saw Marina § Gwendal very closely as they were signing autographs
I took a wonderful photo of them !! And after the exibition I met all the French
team near their bus and I talked a lot with some very nice skaters !!!! I think
it was the best moment of my holiday and I will never forget about it ! Bye everybody

My first time to watch Anissina & Peizerat was on
television around Christmas 1997, when I was amazed at the beauty and expression
of their "Romeo & Juliet". I wanted to watch it over and over. Anissina & Peizerat
should have won gold in every competition for "Romeo & Juliet" and for "The Man
in the Iron Mask." The exquisite routines seem effortless because they are such
artists. I wish that videotapes of their skating were available for purchase. Thank
you, Anissina & Peizerat, for bringing beauty into our lives.
