I am wanting to go to Champions on Ice this May, when it comes to southern California,
but I need to make sure if Marina and Gwendal will be at shows in either San Diego
or at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. If anyone knows, please email me. They are

Marina and Gwendal: Bravo, bravo, bravo on your stunning performance
of "Carmina" at Trophee Lalique. I was so thoroughly captivated throughout the performance
that it is difficult to pick a "highlight." The entire program was just exquisite
and, as with all your programs, I was so disappointed when it ended . . . I always
want them to go on forever. The consolation is that, like fine wine, the program
will grow better with age (though it's hard to imagine it being much better than
in Paris), so the next time I see it I will love it even more. No other skater or
skaters transport me to other places and emotions the way you do. Thank you for
sharing your tremendous gifts with us.

When Jade switched on the TV, she happened to choose NHK. I happened to walk
in just as she flipped to an ice-skating program. Normally, I would have just given
it a glance and passed by, but it so happened that I saw a man and a woman skating
together in a way I have never seen any other couples on the ice manage to do before.
That couple, needless to say, were the both of you.
You skate with a grace some DANCERS never manage to achieve, moving so beautifully
together it is as though you were one, able to anticipate and match each others
movements so perfectly. And the choice of music, the soundtrack from 'The Man in
the Iron Mask', was perfect. Graceful and passionate yet delicate; you managed to
convey all those emotions to the audience. We were so impressed we decided to look
you up on the Net. Are you going to be performing in the 2000 Olympics ?
BTW, one question. How do you, Marina, manage to carry Gwendal ???? And Gwendal,
have you ever realised that you bear a striking resemblance to the Vampire Lestat
descriptions in the Anne Rice books@Interview with the Vampire ? You should have
acted in the movie !*LOL* We wish you luck and hope you will continue to skate together
for many more years.

I missed your performance at the 1998 Olympics, which I now regret emmensely.
The first time I saw you skate, I was so overwhelmed. The World's were playing on
my television in my living room full of talkative people. I stopped talking mid-sentence
and gazed in sheer awe at you. When my friends looked to see what had captured my
attention, they also grew silent and fell under the same enchantment as I (and they
were a group of men who have never held any interest in ice skating, ballet, opera,
or any of my artistic obsessions.) I have been a fan ever since then. Your skating
is nothing short of brilliant.

I have missed seeing you this season on TV. We didn't get all of SKATE AMERICA,

are the most incredible ice dancers I have ever seen. I did not think after Torval
and Dean there would be another couple so moving, I am happy to say I was wrong.
Your dance to the "Man in the Iron Mask" still moves me as I watch it over and over!
The beauty, the grace, the intensity, the incredible grace - it is beyond words
for me to express how your skating moves me. I was once very athletic until my back
was broken and now have a foot of titanium holding my spine together, so for me,
watching great talent like you continues to move spiritually inside me that which
no longer can atheletically physically move as it once did (also age has moved in!)
I heard Marina is injured and can't skate this year, is this true? If so, I wish
you well, and I cannot wait to see you perform again. You are the perfect blend
of beauty, atheletic ability, and grace! Thank you for joining together your great
talents and I hope one day to see you perform live. What an honor and a blessing

I really enjoyed watching your performances at the 1998 winter olympics game and
the 1998 world. Infact, your performances were so good it inspired me to purchased
the 1998 winter olympics game video tapes. Unfortunately, they only showed a small
clip of your Romeo & Juliet program. I was sooooooooo disappointed, to say the least.
I was equally disappointed when you didn't win the gold at the 1998 world game.
I really hate the politics involved in ice dancing. I hope that it will improve
in the near future.

Elles sont vraiment magnifiques, je les imprimes mais l'encre commence légèrement
à diminuer!!!!

skating and some who illustrate all that is artistic. Gwendal and Marina beautifully

C'est génial car j'y vais tous les jours sauf le lundi car j'ai la danse ( moderne
Jazz) . Jje commence à apprendre le pas de valse car comme tu peux le deviner mon
but est de trouver un partenaire pour pouvoir danser!
C'est en vous voyant pour la première fois interpréter Roméo et Juliette que le
patin est devenu ma deuxième passion, en effet, car la première c'est la danse.
Depuis, je vous ai vu sur le Masque de fer et Danse mon Esméralda (qui est magnifiquement
interpréter, et plein d'émotion).
En tous cas, il m'est IMPOSSIBLE de penser que Krilova et Ofsianikof est gagné la
première place, il est EVIDENT, je pense, pour tout le monde qu'elle vous revenaient
de droit et que vous allez et DEVEZ la gagner cette saison. Car Il n'y a personne
jusqu'à présent qui soit capable de faire passer autant d'émotion que vous le fait
en interprétant un programme qu'il soit court ou long!!!!!
Je crois que je vais arrêter pour laisser un peu la place aux autres!!!
Je vous souhaites à tous les deux bonne chance .

hier(dimanche matin à 8h00) j'étais sur la glace et c'étais vraiment génial car
il faisait super beau et j'avais la glace pour moi toute seule.( Je suis dans une
patinoire en plein air et c'est magnifique de patiner dans ces conditions mais c'est
vrai que c'est mon drôle quand il pleut, mais de toute façon, qu'il pleuve, qu'il
neige ou qu'il vente j'y vais!!!!

Hello Gwendal,
Je m'appelle Sophie et j'ai 20 ans, cela fait 6 ans que je fais de la danse(moderne)
et depuis que je vous ai vu interprété "Roméo et Juliette" le patinage artistique
est devenu ma deuxième passion! ensuite je vous ai admirer sur "l'homme au masque
de fer" et là j'en avais les larmes aux yeux, vous avez une tel faculter d'interpretation
qu'il est impossible d'y rester insensible!
c'est donc grâce à toi et Marina que j'ai décidé de commencer le patin, j'en suis
à mon 4ème cours et bien sûr j'ai déjà fais de nombreuses chutes mais cela ne me
décourage pas! je vais m'entraîner tous les jours et toujours avec ton visage dans
ma tête que peut-être un jours j'aurai le plaisir de voir!
j'espère un jour trouver un partenaire à ta hauteur et ainsi pouvoir réaliser mon
rêve: danser sur la glace!
Juste une dernière chose: j'ai pu lire de nombreuses remarques sur le fait que tu
aies laisser pousser tes cheveux ! NE LES ECOUTES PAS"

First saw you in Worlds 1997. Couldn't believe how much you improved
in one year. Thought the Romeo and Juliet was to die for, but the man in the Iron
Mask was just the best. Sat with my friends Povilas Vanagas and Margarita Drobiasko
in Helsinki and we all gave you a standing ovation. Our champagne toasting after
the competition included a toast from Povilas to you two as the best ice dancers.
I agree. Can't wait to see you in Austria and France. I would have put you first,
the Italians and Lithuanians in the other positions. Don't tell Povilas and Margarita
that I liked the Italians this year. I like the Canadians too, but I thought they
were lucky to get 3rd. Going to join Margarita and Povilas in St. John for Skate
Canada. The Russian number 2's will be there but they still should finish 2nd. Really
looking forward to the 2000 season. Thought you really skated your hearts out last

Que dire de plus que les autres fans ? Difficile, très difficile...
Je vous regarde patiner depuis la saison 1996/97 et les mots me manquent pour trouver
des qualificatifs à votre patinage : harmonie, osmose, grâce, adéquation parfaite
entre technique et artistique, me semblent être les seuls qui conviennent. J'oserais
même dire que vous réinventez la dance sur glace dans chacun de vos programmes.
Au delà des titres européens, mondiaux et de la médaille d'or olympique que vous
remporterez, c'est l'histoire de la danse sur glace que vous marquez déjà par ce
nombre impressionnant de portées et d'attitudes nouvelles sur la glace.
Pour la saison 1999/2000, tous les atouts sont de votre côté :
-En regardant les cassettes de la saison 98/99, je sens que vous avez encore devant
vous une marge importante de progression. A l'inverse, Krylova/Ovsiannikov arrivent
au maximum de leurs possibilités. Ils sont moins mobiles que vous et la taille et
d'Anjelika est un obstacle pour créer des portées plus acrobatiques. Par ailleurs,
la morphologie d'Oleg exclut la possibilité de portées inversés.
-Le sentiment général est que vous avez été volés, aussi bien à Prague qu'à Helsinki.
- La saison 1999/2000 va avoir une coloration très française. Finale du Grand-Prix,
chez vous à Lyon, Championnats du Monde à Nice, c'est toute la patinoire qui vous
est acquise...Comptez sur nous pour vous soutenir !
-Carmina Burana, quelle musique pour un programme libre ! Je ne peux m'empêcher
d'établir un lien avec le Boléro patiné par...
- ...Thorvil/Dean pour chorégraphes. Le must.
Puisqu'il est de bon ton, sur ce site, de vous proposer des musiques, je fais le
rêve de vous voir patiner sur le Sacre du Printemps à Salt Lake City.

never seen such an art on ice since Isabelle and Paul D. Your last years free dance

Dear Marina and Gwendal,
When I first saw you skate in Nagano in 1998, I was totally blown away by your passion
for the sport. I haven't seen such passion since a certain Torvill and Dean!!!!
I know this has been done a million times before, but there is a BEAUTIFUL song
written by an Australian singer called Paul McDermott entitled "Shut up/Kiss me"
and I think you are the only skaters in the world who could reproduce the emotion
of this song on the ice...I don't know if you can find a copy of it in France but
it is one of the most wonderful pieces of music that I've ever heard!
I don't get to see much ice dance on television in Australia (only once or twice
a year), so I always enjoy your performances all the more because we don't see them
very often on this side of the world. Thank you for making me smile (and cry)!!!

Depuis le premier jour ou je vous ai vu patiner je suis devenue une fervante admiratrice....Votre
patinage est à la fois plein de grace,de beauté et d'émotion....Votre programme
sur la musique du masque de fer m'a ému à un tel point que, encore aujourd'hui,
je ne cesse de regarder la cassette vidéo.....Vous êtes vraiment le plus beau couple
de danse sur glace que j'ai pu voir durant mes 17 ans de vie....Votre technique
est incomparable et je pense vraiment que vous auriez du être les champions du monde
car votre programme était parfait...Le porté inversé est une véritable prouesse
et je félicite Marina pour avoir réussi à l'exécuter et Gwendal pour sa souplesse...J'aime
énormément le patinage artistique mais malheureusement la patinoire est trop loin
de chez moi pour que je puisse m'y inscrire car depuis que je vous ai vu je rêve
de prendre des cours....je me console en vous regardant à la TV.
Je voudrais donc vous remercier pour me permettre de rêver à chacune de vos représentation.
